When to go to Mainland Spain

Spain is blessed with a fantastically warm Mediterranean climate, giving it lovely hot summers. Spain is known to get particularly warm during July and August, so this is the best time to visit if you love the sunshine. Temperatures can reach up to 35 degrees Celcius in August - so make sure you pack some sun cream for the beach.

If you're looking for a quieter and cooler break, visit Spain in September or October, or between April and May, when the cooler weather has settled in.

    Cultural Highlights

When we think of Spanish culture, flamenco dancers, tapas and amazing beach resorts come to mind. But if you explore this idyllic country, you'll see it has a lot more to offer. Medieval castles, monuments, intricate architecture and artistic influences all await you.

The countryside of Andalucia is dotted with stunning examples of Roman and Moorish architecture, which fleck the unspoilt countryside. If you're looking for something a bit busier, Barcelona is a city that offers more character than you could wish for. Make sure you check out the famous examples of Gaudi's work - La Sagrada Família and Casa Batlló.
