Sannat is an attractive village with an early eighteenth century parish church. It is primarily known as the gateway to the Ta’ Cenc plateau and cliffs. The plateau boasts unparalleled views from the cliffs that plunge up to 145m into the sea. It is Gozo’s primary birding site where many species can be seen including the national bird, the blue rock thrush. In spring and autumn migrating species make landfall here for the first time in hundreds of miles. After exploring the plateau, you can then relax in one of the village cafes, or alternatively the Islands capital Victoria can be reached within a five minute drive for a wider selection of amenities.
