Praia d'el Rey golf course opened in June 1997 and it is certainly one of the most picturesque layouts in Europe, set in extensive grounds of pine forest and undulating dunes with spectacular views over the Atlantic and the Berlenga Islands beyond. Cabell B. Robinson has designed the course to be the complete golfing challenge with bold deep bunkers, undulating greens, and natural sand border areas contrasting sharply with the lush green fairways. A fantastic opportunity for kids to get professional football coaching is on offer at Praia d'el Rey. With the top coacching on offer, children will learn new skills and perfect their individual ability. The course is run over 3 structured half days at the UEFA standard football pitches, which has previously hosted the Portuguese national team, with stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo. There is a small convenience shop located on the resort which will provide you with the basics for your holiday. A more extensive shopping centre can be found in Obidos.

There are an array of restaurants and bars on the resort, offering a range of cuisine from snacks to a la carte dining. The Clubhouse has panoramic views over the golf course and the ocean and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with an à la carte menu, as well as snacks, pizzas and a take-away menu all day. In addition to the snack lounge, the "Links Restaurant" offers an a la carte menu which includes traditional Portuguese cuisine. It also features a special kids menu for children up to 11 years old. Zanzibar is the bar located next to the clubhouse where you will find a relaxed atmosphere and cocktails later in the evening.

Club Aventura offers a wide range of half-day sportive, recreational and art related activities suitable for age groups of 6 - 14 years olds, such as decorative and dance workshops, face painting workshops, sculpture balloon, recreative games, beach games, Olympic & team games and break dancing. Whilst the children are off having fun, so can the adults.

No matter where you are staying on Praia d'el Rey, you will have access to a communal pool. There is an indoor pool available at the Atlantic Health Club at the main hotel. There is a daily fee of approximately €30 per person to use these facilities.

If you are staying in the Praia d'el Rey Villas & Residences, you will also have access to communal swimming pools situated within the townhouse communities. These pools are available exclusively to the resorts self-catering properties and are free of charge to use.

Praia d'el Rey is located right on the coastline, offering miles of fantastic sandy beach, that is private to the resort. With a natural family feel to the resort, the beach is the ideal place for children to mix and play with others!
