La Rochelle is a short drive of less than two hours, with wonderful shopping and fresh seafood restaurants, and of course great west coast beaches. For golfers, you have Le Manoir de Beauvoir in Poitiers, Golf Club Chateau des Forges in Les Forges and Formule Golf le Petit Chene at Mazière-en-Gatine, all within driving distance.

The popular seaside resort of La Tranche sur-Mer is a 20 minute drive away, offering a wider range of amenities, combined with stunning sandy beaches, watersports, a wide range of events, and a colourful farmers’ market on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

The surrounding area boasts beautiful countryside and forests, interspersed with many impressive Romanesque châteaux, perfect for a day out exploring. Our villa is located within the peaceful hamlet of Courbortige, just a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Melle.

Bordeaux is accessible for a daytrip by car, with its fantastic history, architecture and culture.
