Just a few miles inland from the coast, the picturesque old Roman town of Pollensa offers a traditional Mallorcan experience. Wander around its narrow cobbled streets, discover crafts and clothes shops and join in the relaxed café life - Spanish style. You can purchase fruit, vegetables, cheese and olives direct from the farmers at the Sunday market, which is located on the Placa Major and the maze of little streets leading up to the Calvari steps. At the top of the steps, you’ll find the Calvari church and spectacular views across the town to the convent at Puig de Maria.

Alcudia 7 1hr Time from airport
Port d’Alcudia’s big, bustling marina and animated resort has a much faster tempo. A wide variety of shops, restaurants and boutiques line the large sandy bay. You’ll find traditional seaside fun here, from pedaloes to a water park, and a lively nightlife packed with bars and discos. For a complete change of pace, you can stroll round the beautifully preserved, medieval walled city of Alcudia and its network of shaded narrow streets. A Roman house and the remains of an amphitheatre are located just south of the town.

Puerto Pollensa 7 1hr Time from airport
The resort of Puerto Pollensa has everything - wonderful scenery, beautiful sandy beaches and a laid-back friendly atmosphere. The town square is a popular meeting place on warm summer evenings, and also on market days when you can buy anything from fresh produce to local crafts and carvings, leather goods and ceramics. Young families adore the wide, gently shelving sandy beach which stretches for over a mile around the huge horseshoe bay. Parents equally appreciate the pavement restaurants and cafés lining the pedestrian Pine Walk where they can relax and watch over the kids while they play. You’ll find all sorts of watersports on offer, as well as boat trips to the spectacular beach on the Formentor peninsular. Romantic walks along the coastline lead you to remote beaches inaccessible by car.

The small, coastal village of Sa Rapita is home to a small selection of shops, bars and restaurants and is home to a small marina with a restaurant and bar. The shoreline at Sa Rapita is rocky but the wonderful 3km long beach of Es Trenc is just a walk away.

Cala d'Or 5 1hr Time from airport
Cala d’Or is both chic and family-friendly. From fishing boats and family beaches to water sports and golf, this group of unique and pretty little coves, known as ‘calas’, cater to every taste. Glass bottomed boats sail up and down the shoreline, between the different coves, and stop off for you to choose your beach for the day. Some coves offer beach bars and waterfront facilities, while others - like Cala Mondrago - offer a more peaceful nature reserve. A marina lies at the heart of the resort, attracting a fashionable yachting crowd with stylish Mediterranean eateries and a laidback tempo. Here, you can sip Cava and dine in style on a terrace overlooking the moored yachts. Walking from our villas, you can reach different beaches, shops and bars within the Cala d’Or resort, whilst a short drive will enable you to visit other beautiful deserted coves that stretch along the coastline.

S'Horta is a traditional Spanish village nestling within the overall area of Cala d’Or. The village boasts narrow streets, a selection of shops, bars and restaurants and a beautiful church, and retains much of its charm. Close by is Calonge with its variety of chic furniture and glass shops and small selection of superb restaurants.

Situated half an hour from Palma on the north side of the island is the small village of Moscari. This village comes alive in the month of August when it hosts its summer fiesta; live music and entertainment are held in the town square almost daily. Moscari is also within easy reach of some of the islands best beaches and tourist attractions such as the Binibona Parc Natural.

An unpretentious little town, Felanitx is best known for its locally produced wine, capers and ceramics. You can buy these traditional items at the local market, which fills the streets around the town’s 13th Century church each Sunday. Just a 10 minute drive from here brings you to Cala d’Or, a cluster of small beach resorts on the neighbouring coastline.

Neighbouring Cala d'Or, Porto Petro is a pretty fishing village and marina with a horseshoe bay. This low-key resort has the feel of a traditional Mallorcan village, set beside the sea. Here you will find many fantastic fish restaurants, all serving the fresh catch of the day – where a familiar sight is the waiters traversing the zebra crossing, carrying plates of delicious seafood to the pavement café on the quay!

Cala San Vincente is tucked away on the northwest tip of the island and offers a choice of sandy coves dotted along the coast. Driving around the island you will find many picturesque towns and villages both on the coast and inland. A visit to the vast underground caves with live classical music is also very worthwhile. In the early and late season, there are many conducted walks around the countryside of Pollensa and cycle hire is also available.

Set in a small area enclosed by pine-covered cliffs, Cala Santanyi bay is a quiet, golden sandy cove with crystal clear waters. Portals Nous 1
With a picturesque setting, adjacent to the sea and mountains, Portals Nous lies on the South West coast of Mallorca, just 10km from the capital of Palma. With a popular village centre, Portals Nous is lined with a variety of amenities and restaurants and overlooks the exclusive marina of Puerto Portals. Rapidly becoming a marina of note, Puerto Portals is known for attracting notable famous personalities and socialites, with gleaming white yachts filling every mooring, creating a floating armada between the diners and the Mediterranean. The area is blessed with a number of beautiful beaches, from small, quiet inlets to popular stretches of white sand which offer a range of water sports.

Set in the fertile reclaimed marshland, known as the “Land of a thousand windmills”, this country town is the centre of the farming community and the ‘vegetable basket’ of the island. It has a few shops, a bustling produce market and a little museum of toys and games and contemporary art. In August the village hosts an excellent jazz festival.
