Just a few miles inland from the coast, the picturesque old Roman town of Pollensa offers a traditional Mallorcan experience. Wander around its narrow cobbled streets, discover crafts and clothes shops and join in the relaxed café life - Spanish style. You can purchase fruit, vegetables, cheese and olives direct from the farmers at the Sunday market, which is located on the Placa Major and the maze of little streets leading up to the Calvari steps. "For us, Es Refugi was truly a Shangri-la. Beautifully looked after by the owners-with exquisite gardens and a magical atmosphere. We loved the 'deep in the countryside' atmosphere and yet we were just 10 mins drive from Alcudia and 15 mins drive to Pollensa and Puerta de Pollensa. A perfect place. "
